The Bachelor of Software Engineering (Hons) programme at IUKL is designed to prepare students for a successful career in the software industry and the information technology sector by inducting them into the breadth and depth of problem-solving, mathematical foundations of software engineering, programming, software development methodologies, software processes and life cycles, software quality, testing and technical documentation.

Distinguished by its focus on delivering the essential elements of software engineering, this discipline gives students invaluable experience in teamwork, project management and the utilisation of industry best practice techniques. In the final year of study, students will have the opportunity to hone their skills through industry internship and be involved in a major software related project.

STPM Minimum 2 principle passes with GPA 2.00 and a C in Additional Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent
Diploma -- A Diploma in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Information Technology or Information Systems or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.50 and a credit in Additional Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent

-- Candidates with CGPA below 2.50 but above 2.00 with a credit in Additional Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process

-- Any other Diploma in science and technology with minimum CGPA of 2.50 may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process and a credit in Additional Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent

A-Level Minimum 2 Principal Passes and a C in Additional Mathematics at O-Level/SPM
UEC Minimum 5Bs (including Mathematics)
Foundation / Matriculation Minimum CGPA of 2.00 and a C in Additional Mathematics at SPM level or equivalent
SAM/HSC/AUSMAT TER/UAI: average 60% or higher in 5 subjects (including Mathematics)
CPU/CIMP Average of 60% or higher in 6 subjects (including Mathematics)
IB 26 points or higher based on 6 subjects
Other Qualifications -- Candidates without a credit in Additional Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent may be admitted if the Diploma programme contains subjects in Mathematics that are equivalent to Additional Mathematics at SPM level

OVERVIEW

Software Engineering is a program dedicated to techniques required in constructing computer systems. Complex systems are used in the process of our daily life. The things we use such as vehicles, electricity, machines in our homes are controlled by these systems. These are essential needs and we rely heavily on them to work all the time in our daily routines.

The Certified Software Tester (CSTE) is intended to establish standards for initial qualification and provide direction for the testing function through an aggressive educational program.

A Certified Software Quality Engineer understands software quality development and implementation, software inspection, testing, verification and validation, and implements software development and maintenance processes and methods.
