Student life here is great. That is when my friends and I would be burning the midnight oil before every exam, preparing for presentations and participating in all events organized by the faculty or IUKL itself. I would like to express my gratitude to all my lecturers who constantly support and inspire us to work harder. Without any doubt, I would recommend IUKL to my friends.
I used to play badminton back in Indonesia and I wish to join IUKL Badminton club. Being able to do what I love and focus on studies is a bonus point. I have also joined Persatuan Pelajar Indonesia (PPI) to get together with my fellow Indonesian students.
I must say it’s the multi-cultural environment here. It has expand my social circles with university mates from different parts of the world. Besides getting to know more about their culture and language, we are always happy working together. Also, being in the Dean’s list consistently has entitled me for 60% fee waiver scheme by the university which is a big financial aid for me and my family. This has taught me in life to give the best shot in everything you do, and success is there to achieve it! And definitely I will recommend IUKL to others.
I chose Corporate Communication programme, because I think graduates from this programme would have wider opportunities to enter every industry. Maybe after finish my studies, then I can join politics, business world, communication world, or some other industries. That's because when you take this course, you will get to learn about marketing, public speaking, international relations, and other subjects that are related to many industries, not only the communication field. So far I can say that I’ve learned a lot of new things since I came here. Living far from my parents has taught me to be more responsible, wiser, and more aware of new things.
After I finished my high school, I applied to a few universities within Indonesia and abroad. In the end, I chose to study in IUKL because I was so interested in the programme that they offer. I chose Bachelor of Communication (Hons) in Corporate Communication because its suits my passion and also because the duration of study, it only takes 3 years to complete. Now I’m already in my last semester and I think its safe to say that university life in IUKL is full of so much fun. I got involved in so many events within and outside the campus and I got to meet many new people from various backgrounds. This has enriched my life.
I learned lots of new things here, at IUKL. My classmates, are fun and always full of energy. We experience many things together and I cherish all the beautiful moments with them. There are times I feel it is tough to continue my studies, but friends and lecturers are always very supportive. That’s what keeps me going until now. The best part is when you get to experience interviewing corporate people for your assignment. You get to listen to their success stories and how they manage to be on top. It is really inspiring. I am now paving my way to be like them.
Studying at FACE has helped to unlock my potential. The supportive environment from the FACE community helps me to stay motivated and focused.
I first found out about IUKL through a fair and later learnt more about it through family and friends. It's been quite the roller coaster! I had my ups and downs here, but I think I grew and improved as a person with the help of those around me like my friends, classmates and lecturers. Most of the students in my batch were local so I was worried I was not going to fit in. However, they were the most welcoming, kind, and friendly people I've ever met. They always included me in their activities and made my stay here more meaningful. My course was not limited to Corporate Communication. With IUKL offering many free electives, and free modules, I gained a lot of knowledge in different fields like marketing, foreign language, and so much more. Whenever there are events on campus, it's fun to attend and participate in an activity or two.
I got a 50% scholarship for my first semester. And I think I will continue to get tuition fee waivers for my coming semesters as well.
You will learn a lot of new things in IUKL. This is the start of your new phase in life, moving from a high school teenager to adulthood. You can meet a lot of new people from all over the world. I am actively involved as a committee member and facilitator for the Induction programme for new students. This is the 8th time I’ve been involved in this programme.
The best thing about IUKL is that it is multi-cultured whereby the students are from various countries. And another advantage is that IUKL provides scholarships for deserving students. This is a very good motivation for us to score good results as students.
I was introduced to IUKL by my friend who also studied here. The academic experience as well as the overall student experience here has been hugely beneficial to my personal development. I enjoyed having fantastic facilities all within walking distance in the campus. I was also active in theatre performance and volleyball during my study years. The most important thing for me about the university experience is that, I got a chance to advance myself not only academically but also individually as a person.
I was raised by a single mother since I was four. The affordable tuition fee and fee waiver offered by IUKL was part of the main reasons I enrolled here. I started my journey in IUKL studying Diploma in Corporate Communication before I continued with my degree. And now, I will be pursuing my masters in communication. I was actively involved in a lot of clubs and activities throughout my studies such as IUKL Badminton Championship Cup Tournament, Entrepreneurship Events, IUKL Music Club, IUKL Interfaculty Debate Championship and many more. I was the first runner-up at the Interfaculty Debate Championship and also the best speaker. During the Basic Entrepreneurship Event, my team and I was one of the teams to have won the bestselling products.
To select a programme and a university for study, I conducted my own research. IUKL met all the requirements that I was looking for. They are: price, location, lecturers, transport to the commuter station, and international recognition. The process of registration and transferring credits was easy. In IUKL, I met polite and helpful stuff, who simplified the registration process for me. I do not regret my choice of studying in IUKL. I really enjoying every single day of studying here.
Honestly, when I first enrolled in the corporate communication degree programme, I felt afraid because my command in English wasn’t really good and I was a shy person. I stayed on in spite of my fear and I’m glad I did because in the past year, I have learnt a great deal and my ability to speak in English too has vastly improved through practice and the lecturers are very supportive of my interest to learn.
Knowing people from other regions and cultures is interesting. There are so many differences in terms of languages, religions and cultures and I learn to respect that. I also help the International Marketing Department to handle new students from China. I take them for campus visits, and assist them in the registration process. I am also an active member of the International Chinese Students Society.
