University life has taught me to be independent, brave and hardworking. The lecturers were friendly and helpful. They were always welcoming when you went to them for one to one consultation. They respect the students and always give good advice. It took me around 2 months to secure my current job. My studies do help me in performing my work.
I am from Bangladesh but I don’t feel like a foreigner in IUKL. The environment, the people and the culture are very homely. You will definitely have a good time studying at IUKL. There are a lot of new things you can discover and a lot of new places you can go to.I would like to welcome all of you to this institution and I wish you the best of luck in your studies.
The degree programme was a different challenge for me but despite that, I managed to be on the President’s and Dean’s list just like I did when I pursued my diploma.I am happy to have studied here and proud to be an IUKL student!
During my studies at IUKL, I was involved in many programmes organized by the university. Among the many programmes involved, I was one of the student ambassadors for the Vietnam Project. My transformation into a well-rounded individual who understands the value of academic success and skills development is attributed to my education at IUKL.
For me, the best thing in IUKL were the lecturers. They were very supportive and caring. For example, there was one time I didn’t attend a class since I was on MC and my lecturer texted me asking “Are you okay”? I was touched by his kindness. The IUKL community was very friendly. Back then, IUKL campus was not this big. It was like we knew everyone in the campus and we bumped into each other a lot.The “mentor-mentee” programme has really helped me to achieve things I never imagined. My mentor who was my lecturer me gave support to try things that I didn’t think I could do. I learnt new things everyday and that’s what keeps me going until now.I am currently working as a freelancer. I take part in social media campaigns and I’m also hosting for thevocket.com (online food channel). I love what I do and will keep doing it.
There is so much that I learnt as well. Of course, communication is the pillar of my study but there are other things such as entrepreneurship. Through the subject, I learnt how to set up and manage a business. This would come in handy for the future. My lecturers are approachable and they really know their subject. No doubt about it.I am an active member of the Outreach Club. I took part in charity events and activities organized by the club. I was also one of the dancers who represented my faculty at the Malay Heritage Cultural Night. I also took part in a few student exchange programmes organized by FACE. That gave me the opportunity to travel to Cambodia and the Philippines.
The affordable tuition fee and fee waiver offered by IUKL were part of the main reasons I enrolled into IUKL. Despite facing several challenges and personal struggles, education has always motivated me to go all the way in my studies.
I was very much interested in events management and although I didn’t choose to study events management specifically, the course I took at IUKL is exactly what I wanted. All that I have learned during my study years is certainly useful and helps a lot in what I do now.I love my job. I get to meet new people everyday, face-to-face, and I get the chance to travel while on business.
FACE has given me the confidence to pursue my dream. With its activities and hardworking lecturers, I am now sure that I have taken the right path for a fulfilling career in the future.
IMC or Integrated Marketing Communication is the programme that I’ve always wanted to study. I chose this programme because I want to learn about marketing and design, especially because I want to enter the advertising industry. And IUKL is one of few universities that offer this specific major, that’s why I’m doing it here. So far I’m happy here, that’s because the university life here is fun. There are always many events inside and outside the campus that we as students can participate. And so far the most memorable event for me is the cultural night organised by the International Students Association of IUKL. At this event, the international students could perform or showcase their country’s cultures so that we can see each other’s cultures. I too performed that day; I sang an Indonesian song. And other than that, there are many other events that I’ve been involved in.
