Biotechnology is the study that helps to improve the lives and health of Mankind. The field of study includes areas such as genetic modification, microorganisms and cell culture. In IUKL, we not only gain knowledge from books but area also exposed to experiments to better understand the practical knowledge.
As a student who would has chosen Biotechnology as the career path, this programme has offered me great resources, especially the three-month internship opportunity. The unique thing about this programme in IUKL is that I can horizontally explore what I am truly interested in before I go deep into one particular biotechnology branch in the industry. This programme has helped me to develop a broad interest in the whole biotechnology industry runs rather than just focus on a narrow research aspect.
I learnt about IUKL from a friend who used to study engineering here. Taking my friend’s advice into consideration, I enrolled in the Bachelor of Biotechnology programme. Considering there are only a few universities offering this programme, I chose IUKL because it is the most affordable one. I set my target to get the 50% tuition fee waiver when I joined this university. And indeed, I have worked hard to achieve my target. My mom is the one who is supporting me in my studies and having the tuition fee waiver is one way for me to ease her burden. IUKL has very nice lecturers. They are industry practitioners who have become academicians. And that is an advantage for the students. Dr. Soon is one of my favorite lecturers teaching Gene Cloning. He has good networking with the industry and that brings a lot of opportunities for students in terms of internship, work and research. This semester, I joined the SRC and we have promised to make this year an enjoyable one. There are a lot of activities that we have arranged for the students and hopefully it turns out well.
IUKL is the place where I meet and interact with people from different age groups. There are youngsters, older people and people of my age. You can see that education is limitless and it is open to those who seek it. I learnt things about myself, my strengths and weaknesses. I am also able to exercise my rights against discrimination. I am proud to say that I am able to communicate well and I don't fumble anymore. IUKL is an eye-opener for me, and I thank IUKL for that.
The best thing about studying here is the tuition fee waivers offered to students who score in their studies. If you score every semester, you’ll get tuition fee waivers for each semester which I find very helpful financially. University life is not only about studying. I get involved in clubs and societies as well. I am very active in the IUKL Chinese Society. It’s a great experience to be involved in events and I enjoy it very much!
The Bachelor of Biotechnology programme in IUKL has introduced me to all the basics of Biotechnology. The lab courses allowed me to perform experiments hands on and now I can be confident about my knowledge and lab skills.

My experience at Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL) is exemplified by the incomparable support that I received from my lecturers and the incredible friends I have made here. IUKL encourages its students to achieve good results and at the same time be actively involved in students activities. There are plenty of activities held by clubs and societies in the campus, and indeed it has enriched me with the university experience.
I received my Diploma in Biotechnology from IUKL and continued studying here. I get to experience doing experiments in the laboratory which I find exciting. I also get to go for an internship. IUKL’s studying environment is great in terms of the facilities and the location itself. The friendly and supportive lecturers and the multicultural background of students helps a lot in so many ways.
As a student in the Diploma in Biotechnology program, I found this course challenging and rewarding at the same time. The lecturers are highly qualified and have professional experience. They encourage students to think out of the box. They also teach us hands on skills which we can practice and implement in our jobs in the future.
My learning experience of Biotechnology at IUKL has been great. All the lecturers in the faculty are friendly and guided us to acquire a better understanding of the subject. We are exposed to students from more than 50 countries and that has definitely helped me to improve my communication skills.
I really wanted to further my studies in Biotechnology and IUKL is one of the few universities that offer this course. Since the fee is affordable, I decided to come here. The lecturers are very supportive and always make time for students to see them for consultation.
I have always felt luck to be a student of IUKL and not any other university. What I admire the most here is the support and guidance given by the lecturers. They are so caving and motivational. Besides that, the facilities, the environment and the resources here are also excellent. The variety of services available at IUKL has exceeded my expectations.
