“I knew about IUKL from the Malaysia Education Exhibition held in Seychelles in 2016. If I describe IUKL in one word, worthy will be the most suitable word for it. It was a great, challenging but most importantly, an enjoyable experience.
I felt relaxed when I finished the exams every semester. And the challenge was taking the last minute test or assessment the same week you have assignments to submit.
I joined the CONQUEST Competition when I was at IUKL. My team won 3rd place. It was a competition organised by IUKL QS Department whereby group of students from BQS had to compete against each other in various games related to Quantity Surveying and Project Management. The competition consists of mathematical games, contract administration and construction technology 3D model.
I am currently working as a Quantity Surveyor and most of my work is to calculate the cost of a project before tendering as well as supervise and the manage project. I am working mostly on maintenance projects which consists of calculating material cost and preparing the materials list.
In addition, I'm overseeing the utilities section, whereby I have to supervise and manage all projects related to water, electricity and sewage services in the port areas.”
