From August 26 to 30, 2024, IUKL had the pleasure of hosting three distinguished lecturers from Wuhan Technical College of Communication (WTCC), China, for a five-day visit focused on academic exchange and industrial insights:
1. Ms. Hu Shunfang – Deputy Dean, School of Logistics
2. Mr. Ren Tianshu – Lecturer, School of Logistics
3. Ms. Li Shuang – Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Department
This collaborative effort aimed to share knowledge, strengthen academic relationships, and provide a deep dive into Malaysia’s logistics industry. From their arrival, the WTCC lecturers were warmly welcomed and participated in a series of enriching activities, including discussions with faculty, expert-led workshops, and hands-on industrial tours. These activities highlighted Malaysia’s strategic role in global logistics and allowed both institutions to explore potential collaborations in logistics education and research. The visit was primarily managed by Ms. Wong, Mr. Khairy, and Mr. Ahmad Alliff. Special thanks also goes to Mr. Tan Kim Song, AP Dr. Lim Hock Ann, and AP Dr. Suraya Amiruddin for attending the discussion. The visit also included tours of leading logistics companies, such as J&T Express and Best Express Malaysia. These visits offered the WTCC lecturers an in-depth understanding of Malaysia’s logistics operations, from advanced inventory management to efficient distribution processes. The hands-on experiences provided valuable insights that the lecturers could bring back to China, enriching their teaching and research. As the visit concluded, the strengthened academic bonds between WTCC and IUKL were evident, paving the way for future collaborations that will benefit both institutions and contribute to the global logistics education landscape.
