On Sept 15, 2020, our Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin made a working visit to Pangkor Island and chaired the 23 rd Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) meeting which was held at the Avillion Hotel. The meeting which presented the Strategic Plan of the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER) was also attended by the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed; Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz; Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu; Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man; Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor and Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, Joint-Chairman (Industry) of the Malaysian Industry- Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) Tan Sri Dr Ahmad Tajuddin Ali, and Petronas president and group chief executive officer Tengku Muhammad Taufik Tengku Aziz.
At the meeting venue, besides having virtual interaction through video calls with two successful entrepreneurs from Pendang and Kangar, the Prime Minister also visited the booths of five service providers for the NCER programmes. One of the service providers selected. IUKL was selected due to their approach in implementing blended learning in teaching and facilitation process at the schools involved in the empowerNCER Academic programme. Other service providers were Universiti Perguruan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Superfruits Valley by FigDirect, MATA Aerotech Sdn Bhd and ViTrox Technologies Sdn. Bhd.
