The IUKL Chinese Spring Festival 2019 with a theme “First Step” organised on 15 February 2019, from 5.00p.m. until 11.00p.m., was held at the Multipurpose Hall. This is an annual event organized by the IUKL Chinese Society. The objective of the event is to highlight Chinese traditional cultures and provide a platform for its members to organize an event and create a sense of community. This event comprised of an outdoor exhibition and cultural performances. The exhibition included the traditions found in the Chinese community while the cultural performances consisted of the 24 festival drums, Chinese orchestra, lion dance etc. The event targeted at students and lecturers was also open to the public. Approximately 500 attendees made the Festival a success.
The committee members began their preparation from the end of November 2018 to plan and promote the event and to hold rehearsals. The team worked day and night after their class to ensure that the Chinese Spring Festival was a great success.
