The 21st convocation ceremony of Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL) was held with pride and joy on 24 May 2025 at the Bangi Avenue Convention Centre. Graduates from the classes of 2023 and 2024 were honored for their perseverance and achievements in a celebration that brought together students, lecturers, families, and distinguished guests.
A highlight of the ceremony was the inspiring valedictorian speech delivered by Kok Wei Lin, a Diploma in Civil Engineering graduate who completed her studies with an outstanding CGPA of 3.972. A recipient of the Vice Chancellor’s Award and representing the graduating cohort with poise and heartfelt reflection, her speech resonated deeply with the audience as she emphasized that the event was not only a celebration of academic success, but a tribute to the journey that brought each student to this significant moment.
Kok recounted the shared beginnings of the students at IUKL — coming from diverse backgrounds, but united by dreams and determination. She painted a vivid picture of university life, filled with group assignments, sleepless nights, deadlines, presentations, and extracurricular challenges that ultimately shaped the graduates into resilient and capable individuals.
“We’ve grown not just academically, but emotionally and mentally,” she said. “We carry more than knowledge — we carry the lessons and memories that made us who we are.”
Gratitude was a central theme in her speech. Kok thanked parents for their unwavering support, lecturers for their dedication and patience, and friends for their companionship through every hurdle and celebration. She reminded her fellow graduates that success is never achieved alone, but is built upon a strong foundation of encouragement and trust.
Ending on a hopeful note, she quoted Stephen Hawking: “However difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at.” Encouraging her peers to believe in themselves, Kok urged them to become the leaders and changemakers their communities need. The convocation marked both an ending and a beginning — a proud conclusion to years of hard work and a promising start to new adventures. It was a celebration of unity, growth, and the power of perseverance.
