The offer I got from IUKL is one of a kind and it helps me a lot to finance my study. I am one of the recipients of the IUKL Sports Excellent Scholarship. Despite being a full time student, I am also a football player for the Felda United FC under 21 team. Playing for a football club is quite demanding in terms of time management. Hence, I am grateful to have all the lecturers’ full support and understanding. They are well aware of my responsibility and always give me all the time I need to practice. In addition, they provide me with extra work and reference materials. I am happy to be able to learn and try all sorts of sports by joining this programme. I have tried wall climbing and kayak among many others. We also have field trips every now and then. The lecturers are also knowledgeable in their field of study and my favourite is Miss Sue. She is cool, fun and supportive.
“I have a deep passion in sports particularly football. I feel glad that IUKL gives me the opportunity to meet other people who share the same passion as mine by taking up the Diploma in Sports Management course here. I really believe that this programme is setting me on the right track in pursuing my passion and dream as a successful ‘Sport Manager’ one day.
Firstly the fee in IUKL is affordable and I am also grateful to have understanding lecturers. They are supportive, knowledgeable and well versed in their field of studies. I am a member of the Student Representative Council and I’m holding the student welfare portfolio. This semester, I am actively involved in the IUKL Football Club and I’m the centre back for the team. I was an active footballer when I was in high school but decided to slow it down to focus on my studies. But this semester is a bit relaxing for me, hence I decided to be part of the team. Being a Sports Management student, I get to enjoy and explore a lot on the field trips. This year alone, we went kayaking in Wetland and Blue Mosque in Putrajaya and also paid a visit to Bukit Jalil National Stadium. It is great to be able to learn and practice different kinds of sports rather than focusing on one.
Studying in IUKL is really an amazing experience and an eye opener for me. I have learnt a lot on how to set up a business, conduct an event etc. It is not just about playing games there is more to it than meets the eye! I am also a player for the IUKL football club. My passion for football has not waned and it is one of the ways for me to escape from the stress of studying.
I chose IUKL to further my studies so that I can get to the next level in my career. I used to be a personal trainer and right now doing it on a part-time basis. Being able to study what I am passionate about and practice it in real life is a jackpot. Hence, I chose to enroll in the Diploma in Sports Management.
As a Sports Scholarship recipient, I am forever thankful to IUKL. I have learned so many aspects of sports including skills management, communication skills and events management. The conducive and multicultural environment in IUKL helped me to focus in all the activities which I took part in. It also improved my communication skills.
I got to know about IUKL and decided to enrol here because some of my friends were already studying here. There are so many fond memories here, and I still remember my first day at IUKL. It was a great experience studying here and I learned a lot. I was the President of the Dodgeball Club and I enjoyed taking part in the activities organised by the club.
We have all heard the saying “Hard work is the key to success” but a recent study somehow has found that the “profoundly gifted” still have an edge over peers who have less natural talent but are more dedicated to improving their skills. The programme has really helped me a lot in being able to answer the many questions threw at me whenever I work out at the gym.
My passion has always been to be in sports and that is the reason I chose to study Sports Management at IUKL. I used to be a part-time assistant coach for young gymnasts and I trained them for Majlis Sukan Sukan Daerah (MSSD), Selangor (MSSS) and Malaysia (MSSM). I know that it is not about being good in sports alone. I should a good knowledge in this field to excel.
