I enjoyed studying here because my lecturers are caring and helpful. They guided me all the way through, even during my industrial training. I have gained valuable knowledge and the studying experience was a pleasant one for me.
What I've come to acknowledge about university life is the sense of urgency to achieve academically while at the same time be actively involved in student activities. This enables the students to feel that they are graduating with a great deal more than just a paper qualification.
One of the reasons I chose to study agriculture is because of the constant need for food all over the world and, I also hoped to pursue a career related to agricultural business. I learnt various things about agriculture from farming, to the science of plants, management in agriculture and how different it is from conventional businesses. I would like to thanks to all the lecturers for their support as well as their expertise. With their encouragement and help I was able to successfully complete my diploma studies here in IUKL.
The Diploma in Agricultural Sciences (Plantation Management) is a rare program in Malaysian universities, and I'm happy I found this program in IUKL. In this program, we learn about soil types, plantation analysis, conduct analysis in the laboratories, which makes the program very enjoyable. In my program we have many foreign students from different parts of the world. For example: Yemen, Indonesia, Uganda, Nigeria, Canada. It is a great opportunity to meet new people with different points of view.
Communication was the biggest problem. I was very shy, passive and afraid to approach people. Everything changed when I came here. I had to be independent and brave and that is what changed me 360 degree from what I was. IUKL lecturers are good and always willing to share the extra knowledge. I also joined the Chinese Society for my extra-curricular activities. When preparing for the Chinese Spring Festival 2017, I was able to learn management and communication skills. Hard work is always the key to success and I believe, I am on the right track to be a professional agriculturist. Apart from that, I have some good course mates who keep me going.
