Being an IUKL student is quite a blast. I had a pretty good time throughout the years and I found myself a lifetime friendship and bittersweet memories along the way. I learned to become more subtle in everything I do. It is not only make me more creative, it is also a stepping stone for me to be notice in this university. I am not an active student but I keep myself busy with studies and class activities.
What I like the most is the tuition fee waiver given by IUKL to students based on their CGPA scores which helps me a lot financially as I receive the 60% waiver.
After having spent several semesters here, I must say I have realised the importance of having confidence and I have gained tonnes of confidence by simply making presentations in class. Faculty of Arts, Communication and Education (now known as Faculty of Business, Information and Human Science) hires the best lecturers and I find that most of them are friendly, approachable and open-minded making it easier for students to reach out, communicate and enhance their knowledge and experience. The vibe around here is refreshing and calming - something that you don't get at other faculties. I believe for students, that’s important.
The reason I chose IUKL is because it is known as one of the best private universities in KL. Moreover, the courses here are recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education. My study experience in IUKL is fantastic. There are a lot of international students studying here which makes it fun and interesting. The highly qualified lecturers have played a part in giving me a better learning experience.
My parents gave me full support to come to IUKL mainly because of the tuition fee waiver scheme. Unfortunately, I have never met the criteria for the waiver and my CGPA now is 3.72. So close but so far! The most challenging part was the adjustment phase as I was away from my home and family. Taking the full responsibility for myself is a big thing since this is my first time being away from my parents. The other obstacle was to gain friends from other countries. IUKL is a multicultural campus and it is a bit hard for me to adjust as well. I met a lot of nice lecturers, especially for my course. I like the way they teach. The culture is also quite diverse which makes it a lot more interesting. One of my favourite subjects is Introduction to Prose and Poetry and I love writing subjects as well. I love to be a copywritter in the future.
I am very happy that I came to IUKL to continue my studies. I learned a lot from the IEP lecturers. Through the professional training given for IELTS during the IEP programme, my Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing skills improved greatly. Under the guidance of my IEP lecturers, I successfully passed the June IELTS test with a band score of 5.5 and entered my degree programme.
The programme that I’m taking teaches me all about communication. From speaking, reading, articulation etc, I’ve learned so many other things such as laws and regulation and business as well. My best experience of studying here is certainly getting the opportunity to gain as much knowledge as I can. I also got to know many people and knowing more people means learning more. Also I had the opportunity to join the student exchange programme to go to Yogjakarta and Japan. The bonds created during my studies is certainly a “jackpot
The English for Professional Communication Programme helps me to improve my confidence and ability to speak. Each semester we learn new techniques and skills in communication. In IUKL you can find various activities and events for your liking. As for me, I've joined a running club. I train in a group, and we participate in different kinds of marathons. I can give one advice: when you focus not only on your studies, but also start to participate in the activities, your life will be more enjoyable and interesting.
I started my studies at the diploma level, and continued with a bachelor's degree. I had 27 credit hours transfer for my bachelor's, which helped me to save time. I think this is a good opportunity to save time and to learn more about my profession. I really like the lecturers that we have in our faculty. We also have international lecturers that share their experience and knowledge with us.
Being a FACE student has done me wonders in terms of being able to develop a set of skills that I may not have developed if I had chosen a different study path at IUKL. With the extensive communication and leadership skills that I have learnt here, I believe I have become more comfortable talking in front of a crowd, more able to interact with other people effectively. Now I also understand how language impacts us on a deeper level.
IUKL is one of the universities I shortlisted when I was surveying for a degree programme. And I chose IUKL because of its reasonable and affordable fees. I also received RM3,000 rebate from IUKL when I first enrolled here. And I had ample time to think about my options without rushing into making a decision. There is no doubt that the lecturers are very helpful. Because of the small lecturer-student ratio, it is easier for the lecturers to focus on the students. They are able to provide assistance in and outside the class hours. Being one of the SRC members has opened up new doors for me to mix around and experience new things. There are exciting and fun activities we have arranged for the students. And hopefully, we get good feedback from the students.
Besides having a strategic location and new developments, IUKL is a great place to study with friendly lecturers and affordable fees. You also get to go on field trips to expand your horizons. You don’t just learn in classrooms but you get to travel out to gain more knowledge.
I learnt about this university when one of the representatives from IUKL came for an education exhibition in my hometown, I was impressed by what she told me about IUKL. Because I love stuff such as public speaking and writing, I found out whether IUKL has any programme that will suit me. Then she offered a numbers of communication programmes, but I chose BEPC or Bachelor of Arts in English for Professional Communication, because I’m more into English studies, even though it is also a part of the communication major. And apart from that, what I like the most about IUKL is the campus environment. Its great because it is quiet and peaceful here, so its good for us to focus on our studies. The facilities are also good, like the Wi-Fi, library, and the shuttle bus. And other than that, the lecturers that teach me are also all very nice and cool, and so are my classmates. Generally the people that I meet around the campus are from different countries, so for me it is very interesting when I talk with them.
Being a FACE student is one of the best choices I had ever made in my life. It has opened my eyes to the abundant opportunities available in the field of communication and language. Studying here has actually improved the quality of my life where my communication skills are concerned.
Communication is not as easy as many people would think. It is not only verbal, there is non verbal communication, body gestures, facial expression and so on. Even the way you express the word plays a big part in communication. My best memories of studying in IUKL is when I got a chance to join the student exchange programme to go to Yogyakarta for 5 days. I got to learn a lot about the Indonesian education system and also experienced Indonesian culture.
IUKL provides a comfortable and convenient environment for the students. The recent development of De Centrum City and the new academic block really benefits the students as a whole. My network is wide since I have friends from all over the world. There is nothing I can say about the lecturers other than thank you. Thank you for guiding me with knowledge, advice and life’s lessons for my future.
My programme at IUKL has helped me to develop creativity, presentation skills and confidence. Now, I can easily speak in public, without any shyness, for this I am grateful to my lecturers. What I like about IUKL is the university's concern for people, not only the employees and students, but also people who are not members of IUKL. From the first semester in IUKL, I started my participation in the OUTREACH - Charity Programme. I am grateful for this amazing experience and opportunity. Helping people is always a great feeling!
It took me around one month to find a preferable job after I graduated. English is the main language at the company I work with and my colleagues are from various countries. Having been used to the multinational community at IUKL, I have no problem communicating and getting along with colleagues from different countries.
I was introduced to IUKL by an educational institution in my country. I learned a lot of basic theoretical knowledge in the course I am taking, and I am very fond of a few of the lecturers here. I did participate in a few competitions just for the fun of it. I didn’t win any awards or medals but I did gain valuable experience. Overall, my experience here is great and I achieved good results studying here.
I am thankful that I am not alone in IUKL. I have a circle of friends and that has helped me to go through the transition process. It is hard for me to get used to a new place. Only after a while, I felt comfortable being here. IUKL is a good place to gain new experience. Various nationalities make it an awesome place to meet people from all around the world.
