From June 23 to 28, 2024, two students from the Faculty of Engineering, Science, and Technology, accompanied by Ir. Nasrin Sulaiman, attended the Silk Road Workshop Railway Culture Study Camp in Liuzhou, China. This event was organised to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China, with the invitation extended by the Malaysia Rail Development Corporation (MRDC). The program featured insightful sessions led by lecturers from Liuzhou Railway Vocational Technical College (LRVTC), who shared their expertise and experience.
Participants engaged in practical activities, such as connecting and disconnecting railway brake hoses, replacing railway bogie brake shoes, manually adjusting mechanical switches on railway tracks, and measuring the level and gauge of railway tracks. The cultural exchange between China and Malaysia was highlighted during the opening ceremony and Gala night. The event was highly beneficial for both students and lecturers from both countries, providing an excellent opportunity to expand their social networks, knowledge, and skills.
