The Opening Ceremony of “Pertandingan Video Pendek – Gaya Hidup Sihat” was held on 14 October 2021 at 2.30pm virtually and via FB Live, officiated by the Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL)’s Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) cum Patron, Prof. Ideris Zakaria.
To meet the needs of the empowerNCER Academic Programme, service providers feel it is a necessity to remind the public of the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle during the pandemic. One of the main purposes of this video competition is to meet the KPIs of the empowerNCER Academic Programme which requires the involvement of students, parents, teachers as well as the community. The competition is open to 15 secondary schools in 5 districts of Perak, namely Kerian, Larut Matang & Selama, Perak Tengah, Manjung and Bagan Datuk.
This competition is also in line with the needs of co-curricular activities of students who are recognized through the Assessment of Physical Activity, Sports and Co-curriculum (PAJSK). The competition is also held to provide exposure and knowledge as well as to cultivate awareness to implement a healthy lifestyle culture in daily life.
All 1000 students of the empowerNCER Academic Programme will be guided by the teachers and parents who are also welcomed to work together to produce the video. RM4000 has been allocated for the winners. E-certificates will also be awarded.

IUKL was awarded the Service Provider of the empowerNCER Academic programme for the 2021/2022 session. IUKL will be taking on the responsibility in carrying out the services to 5 districts – 2 existing districts for Phase 1 Batch 2 (Kerian and Larut, Matang & Selama) and 3 new districts for Phase 2 Batch 1 (Manjung, Perak Tengah and Bagan Datuk). 200 students will be selected from each district to participate in the programme. empowerNCER Academic is designed to help the B40 students to achieve greater heights through a holistic approach to education, with emphasis on academic excellence, skills, competencies and personal development.
