The need for financial planning has becomes crucial than ever. The recent challenges in the domestic and international financial scenario, makes it necessary for people to be able to manage their personal finances prudently. However, the level of financial literacy among Malaysians is not very satisfactory despite efforts to bring about greater awareness. It is against this background that Agensi Kaunseling & Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) was set up by Bank Negara to help individuals take control of their financial situation and gain peace of mind that comes from the wise use of credit.
In relation to this, a public lecture themed Live Rich, Save Money was held on 17 September at Room 005, Academic Block. The main objective of this lecture was to educate the public (students and staff) on how to ensure proper financial planning for the future. The faculty of Business and Accounting (FBA) invited the Chairman of AKPK, Yg Bhg. Dato’ Mohd Hanif Bin Sher Mohamed as the guest speaker for this event.
This lecture was attended by various groups including IUKL students and staff. Interestingly, the lecture also managed to attract personnel from other divisions such as Protasco. Approximately 80 participants turned out for this informative event.
